Hilly loop from Rhydypenau,to Michaelston, Draethen, Caerphilly #Breezeontour

This is a lovely varied ride of hills, urban roads, country lanes and cycle paths. We leave North Cardiff on urban roads, some may be busy, out to the lanes East of Cardiff. We'll go through the lanes to Michaelston, Draethen and Machen, where we'll join the cycle path along the old railway line to Caerphilly. We'll have a cafe stop in Caerphilly before returning to Cardiff via the Penrhos cutting following the old railway line to join the Taff Trail at Taff's Well. We'll stop for a breather and regroup at the top of the hills.

The route is tarmac throughout, urban roads and lanes, but with some shared cycle paths.
Please bring a water bottle, some money if you would like to buy refreshments, or your own drink/snack. Please also wear a helmet, also bring a spare inner tube, and a bike lock should you wish to sit inside at the cafe.
