This is a 25-mile ride, mainly on quiet roads and lanes, but with some stretches on busier roads, so this ride suits more experienced riders. We head out through Lisvane towards Rudry via pretty country lanes. There is a fair bit of climbing in this first part of the ride, but then you’ll be rewarded with a lovely long descent down to Cefn Mably, before a another climb up to Michaelston-y-Fedw. Then a few more ups and downs until we reach Bassaleg and head towards our lunch stop. After lunch the terrain is flat for a while until we reach Marshfield and begin our climb up to Druidstone, and then back to Llanishen. Although there is some hilly terrain, we will stop and re-group regularly including at the top of steeper hills. This ride is best suited to road bikes, hybrids or e-bikes.

We plan to have a Cafe stop at Esquires Coffee just outside Newport.

Please wear a helmet and bring money for the cafe. Also, make sure your tyres are pumped up, check that your bike is working, bring a spare inner tube and your helmet!
