This is a women-only ride for the members of Nice and Breeze-y.
Mixed terrain ride all around Rutland Water including the peninsula. The terrain is approximately 50/50 with gravel and single track on one side and hard surfaces on the other side, so not suitable for road bikes. There are some ups and downs, and this being off-road for a great part with lots of things to see and enjoy along the way, we will take our time to go around. We'll aim to be back at the car park by 15h00.
As usual, we will stop for a breather, drink, pictures etc along the ride, and there is a pub on the route where we can stop for a light lunch. There are a few other snack shacks along the way, but it is wise to bring some food just in case, as it can get a busy at the food places on the summer weekends.
Please wear a helmet to join this ride. Bring a water bottle for the duration of the ride and dress suitably for the weather. Please carry tools to fix a puncture (spare inner tube, tyre levers, pump, tools to remove back wheel if applicable). Bring a bike lock.
We will meet up in front of the Specialized shop in Whitwell (https://what3words.com/succeed.named.forever) for a 10h00 start, so please calculate to arrive a bit before then for any pre-ride preparations.
