Heading East from Cardiff to Tredegar House

From the Methodist Church we take the back route to Pentwyn and onto Pontprennau through parks and suburban roads. We then cycle on the back road from Pontprennau through the new Highfield housing estate and onto Old St Mellons. Quiet country lanes take us to Michaelston y fedw and over the hill to Bassleg. From there we join the cycle route to Tredegar House where we stop for refreshments. From Tredegar House we join another off road cycle route across the flat lands to Marshfield. Then we take the back roads to the industrial estate, through Vaendre and up towards St Mellons. We join the A48 in St Mellons for a 100 yards stretch, but then turn left and head up Tyla Road back to Old St Mellons.

We continue through the lanes back through Pontprennau, Pentwyn and then onto Cyncoed.

Come and join us for a short ride to Tredegar House from East Cardiff. The ride is 24 miles and has some hills, but we take it gently and slowly, (and get off if it gets too steep). There will be a stop for cake!

We will be cycling on off-road cycle paths, suburban roads and country lanes that are covered with leaves and are quite muddy.

We will be stopping in Tredegar House. We will also be stopping after each big hill to re-group.      

Please wear a helmet, bring bike lights and a snack to keep you going.
