Harvest, Birthday Celebration and Star Gazing Evening Breeze Ride

The ride will start at Broompark and we will cycle along the cycle paths where we can harvest whatever might be on offer in the hedgerows and woodlands around the area. The route will be approximately 8 to 10 miles and will be decided nearer the time when we see what fruits of the earth are on offer!

The ride will end at Abundant Earth where we may be able to harvest more produce, followed by food and cake by the open fire and some skies permitting star gazing as well.

In order for the ride to leave promptly, please be punctual so we can carry out bike checks, etc. prior to us setting off. Expect to be out for at least 2 hours, longer with the fire and celebrations and until after dark so please bring lights.

In view of COVID-19 we will be taking this into account with our ride leading and we will follow govt. guidelines. Please note the following:
• We are keeping group numbers small• We will not share any equipment so please be organised and bring your own items eg drink, spare inner tube, tyre levers and pump, sun cream and hand sanitiser. • You should pay particular attention to your bike being in good working order before attending a ride so as to minimise risks and disruption to rides.
• We will ride taking social distancing into account.
• Participants must not attend a ride if they have COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with anyone with symptoms.
• Anyone who develops COVID symptoms after a ride must contact the leader who will inform British Cycling HQ who will then contact everyone who attended the ride.

This ride will celebrate not only our bountiful summer harvest, but also two of our fabulous Breeze Leaders (Julia and Jacki) late summer birthdays.

Mainly cycle paths and some quiet roads

There will be stops on route to look at local botany and harvest any fruits from hedgerows and woodland. Our main stop will be at the end at Abundant Earth for fire, food, stargazing and celebrations!

As always we can’t predict the weather so please dress suitably. You are better to be overdressed as you can always take layers off. Please also bring bike lights as it will be dark at the end of the ride.
