A fairly easy 20 mile route with NO major hills and we won't ride too fast! From FBC centre, we'll head out along Nashgrove Lane & Blagrove Lane towards Woosehill, then through St. Paul's Churchyard and Holt Lane to Cantley Park. Then cycling on roads and along the lovely country lanes around Hurst, stopping at Hurst Duck pond to see the Halloween display created by the Hurst Hookers. Then up a small hill and a drop down to Dinton for a coffee break at the Coffee Deck (with views over the lake) - where we also hope to see Julie and her Maidenhead Breeze group on their Halloween ride. Leaving Dinton via the main exit, we'll head back to Wokingham using the new cycleway on Toutley Road and the old cycleway from Cantley Park into town. Finally, we'll cycle through Elms Field, along Gypsy Lane and over the Level crossing to Ludgrove/Luckley Road and Evendons Lane to Nashgrove Lane and FBC.
Cycling mainly on roads and country lanes, with some cycle paths. Please bring with you: cash or card for payment at the cafe, a bottle of water, a spare inner tube for your bike and a pump and bike lock if you have one. You must wear a cycle helmet and please check your bike before coming out - especially pump up your tyres, make sure both brakes are working and check if your chain needs oiling.
You don't need to dress up for this Halloween ride (unless you want to look scary or put your vampire teeth in?) - just a hi-vis jacket will be fine - but you are welcome to wear anything Halloween-themed if you would like to.
First-timers welcome!
