THIS RIDE: A steady ride to Hackney City Farm. All cycling experiences are suitable as long as you have some confidence in normal roads (mostly quiet ones). We go over a couple of hilly roads on our way in, but we will wait at the top if anyone needs to push their bikes up.
DESTINATION: We will spend some time visiting Hackney City Farm, which is free entry (donations welcome) – see more here:
https://hackneycityfarm.co.uk/. We can grab a coffee at the Frizzante Café inside the farm, but if you decide to bring a picnic you will have to eat it at the benches outside the farm as the café doesn’t allow food and drinks from outside.
THE ROUTE: Through West Hampstead, Camden, Islington and Haggerston on the way in, and Hoxton, King’s Cross and Regent’s Park on our way back. There is some gravel in certain parts of the route but suitable to all bikes.
We aim to be back at Roundwood Park before 3pm.
If you find this ride fully booked, get in the waiting list as spaces always become available nearer the date. However, please do not sign up if you’re not sure you can join.
IMPORTANT POINTS: *Helmets aren't compulsory but advisable. *Check that your tyres are pumped and bring a spare inner tube and all necessary tools in case of a puncture. *If you can no longer make it for any reason, please cancel your space online so someone else can join. *Only riders who booked themselves on the ride will be allowed to join. *Unless the weather takes a nasty turn making it unsafe or unpleasant to cycle, this ride will go ahead even if it rains. Dress for the weather and bring a raincoat just in case. *Please be advised that we video record some of our rides which are later published on YouTube. By joining them you are authorising your image to appear on the video.
