Starting point

Greater Manchester
M35 0QD

The ride is deemed CHALLENGING due to the undulating/lumpy terrain on the outskirts of Heaton Park where winding roads & country lanes, although not too steep, are more than 1.5 miles long at one stage so require a good level of fitness to make the journey enjoyable! Riders tackle climbs at their own pace and we'll regroup at the top to wait for everyone to arrive.

Riding along residential streets & minor roads towards New Moston & Charlestown, we'll explore Boggart Hole Clough then ride through Blackley towards Heaton Park in Prestwich.

Once inside the park with the highest hilltop in Europe, we'll carry on to enjoy a scenic circular 11 mile route mainly on roads in and around Heaton Park. Heaton Park is situated just four miles north of Manchester city centre and is the city's largest green space, with acre upon acre of parkland and woodlands, as well as miles of traffic-free parkland paths and trails, ideal for safe, relaxing riding. The route ventures out of the park's perimeter to take in some quiet suburban roads & country lanes.

We'll stop at the Hidden Gem Coffee Shop within Heaton Park Garden Centre before heading back to G.R.O.W.E via main roads through Higher Blackley.
