Grantham Canal - Cropwell Bishop Loop

Starting from – Cropwell Bishop Car Park by Grantham Canal (NG12 3BA). A 13 mile quite off road route mostly on canal tow path, on the Notts/Leicestershire border. An off road bike is required such as CX, Gravel or MTB.

Ideal suited to an intermediate level rider or rider progressing to this level (13 miles). Pace expected to be in the range of 10 to 12mph average, depending on the Group. New faces and families welcome. This route has been categorised as Steady. Be aware that this route maybe more challenging for some participants, but we don't drop anyone, we ride as a group.
Riding on off road cycle path and canal tow path with a short section of country roads in the Vale of Belvoir.

Route: Cropwell Bishop Car Park by Grantham Canal, follow tow path to Cafe at Hickling canal basin, continue on tow path to Canal Lane crossing near Hose/Long Clawson, follow lane and road to Colston Bassett and then back towards Cropwell Bishop but re-joining the Canal again and back along the tow path to Cropwell Bishop. (NB no cafe stop on evening rides).

Please bring a helmet, spare inner tubes, pump, puncture repair kit. Front and rear lights. Water bottle and some energy food snack. Suitable clothing for the weather. If you don't feel well or have Covid-19 symptoms please don't come. Enjoy the ride.
