The new Govan-Partick moving bridge opens officially on Fri 6 Sep, and on Sat 7 Sep it will be open to the public: https://glasgowcityregion.co.uk/formal-opening-date-confirmed-for-the-govan-partick-bridge/ This is very exciting news for everyone walking and cycling, so we'll do a short ride in the Partick-Govan area, of course crossing the new bridge! There will be two festivals, on the North and South side of the bridge, with live music, stalls, and various activities; we can hang about a bit after the ride! Riverside Museum: https://www.clydebuiltfestival.com/ Govan: https://www.glasgowbarons.com/govan-footbridge-festival
We'll ride on urban cycle lanes.
Bring a bike in working order, preferably with gears. A helmet is recommended. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated while riding and snacks as needed.
First-timers welcome!
