Starting point

London
W2 6LA

Start the Easter Weekend with an excursion across South London to Greenwich, a trip on the IFS Cable Car to the Docklands, and a meander around Trinity Buoy Wharf and East India Dock. This is a train-assisted ride, taking the Elizabeth Line to Paddington at the start and end of the ride.

We ride down from Paddington through the Royal Parks to cross the river at Vauxhall Bridge, then make our way around the Oval, through Kennington Park to Camberwell, and to Burgess Park where we will have a brief pause. We continue around Millwall and through South Bermondsey to reach the river at Deptford and ride along to the Cutty Sark. The climb through Greenwich Park is rewarded with fine views and a picnic lunch. (The Pavilion Café is unfortunately reported to be closed for refurbishment.)

After lunch we ride on across Blackheath Common and explore some less well-known sights of East Greenwich, before reaching the riverside to take the IFS Cable Car to Royal Victoria Docks. We will see the ever-increasing construction work around the Lower Lea Valley as we make our way to visit the quirky Trinity Buoy Wharf and the unexpected quietness of the East India Dock Basin. Then we return to Paddington via Cycleway 3 from the Docklands through to Tower Hill, the Embankment, Parliament Square and the Royal Parks.
