Fundamentals of Mountain Biking Ride – Hollingworth Lake

This Guided Ride is a beginners mountain bike ride, brought to you by a qualified Fundamentals of Mountain Bike Leader.  To deliver rides as per the remit of the Fundamentals of MTB Award, we also hold a valid 2 day outdoor first aid certificate and Safeguarding Course.

From the car park we go around the lake anti clockwise to pick up the trail which takes us up Benny Hill then Whittaker Moor to Lydgate from where we do the big climb up to Blackstone Edge Reservoir for the main break.
We then head back down on a great Single Track to pickup the Pennine Bridleway and Rochdale Way going across the M62 getting a great view of it.
From there we come into Rakewood and back to the start

This is not a technical ride but it is a MTB ride so lumpy

Mainly quiet lanes and trails but the main climb is on A58 Halifax Rod

We will stop when required but will have a definite break halfway around

You need to wear helmets and clothing to suit the weather Puncture repair kit and spare tube to suit the bike Snack and drink
