This British Cycling Guided Ride is a beginners mountain bike ride, brought to you by a qualified Fundamentals of Mountain Bike Leader. To deliver rides as per the remit of the Fundamentals of MTB Award, we also hold a valid 2 day outdoor first aid certificate.

Do you want to discover the ‘mountain’ in your mountain bike? Whilst not exactly mountainous this 11 mile guided ride does include a LOT of climbing (1300ft !) and descending, mostly off-road and will stand you in good stead to explore further on your MTB.

Please bring water and snacks. There is a cafe at around 6.5 miles but it is quite exposed so would only use this if the weather is good. There is a good cafe at the start/finish if needed.

For this ride you really do need a mountain bike, preferably with at least front suspension, a gravel bike would also be suitable but would need to be ridden confidently as the routes around Rivington are very bumpy. Electric versions of mountain or gravel bikes are welcome. Road/hybrid bikes will not be suitable. Helmets are compulsory. Bring a puncture repair kit and a spare tube. I would also recommend a waterproof and extra layer as it is exposed on the tops.

First-timers welcome!
