Starting point

North Yorkshire
YO24 1LW

This is a flat 38 mile ride heading south from York on the Solar System Cycle Path to Riccall, crossing the River Ouse at Naburn on the old railway swing bridge with the Fisher of Dreams wire statue. We then follow the quiet roads to Selby in an anti-clockwise direction, re-crossing the Ouse at Cawood. We stop in Selby to look at the Abbey, which has been on site since 1069, and then for our lunch in the centre of Selby. Duly fed and watered we cross the Ouse once again and ride alongside it before heading northwards on wooded rural roads to cross the A19 and rejoin the Solar System Cycle Path back to Askham Bar.

We will stop for lunch at Th Hub which is in the centre of Selby with indoor and outdoor seating. We stopped here last year and it was a good stop.

Helmets are a must as is some hi-vis outerwear. Make sure you have a spare inner tube at least and that your brakes, tyres etc are in good condition. Check that the British Cycling website has up to date personal and emergency contact details.

We never leave anyone behind
