FLAB social Leicestershire North West - Sawley Marina to Alvaston Park

This is a flat ride of roughly 21 miles along hard surfaced cycle tracks, canal and river banks plus a couple of quiet bits of road. Heading out from Sawley marina along the cycle path to the A50 Island where we then join the river and canal path into Shardlow. A bit of road into Elvaston where we cut through the castle grounds to the river path at Raynesway and into Alvaston park to the cafe. After our stop we return along NCN route 6 to Sandiacre and then back doen the Erewash canal to Trent Lock and the river bank back to Sawley marina.
Most bikes except for skinny tyred road bikes will be fine on this route.
