Evening Ride to Haigh Foodie Friday

The ride will leave Robin Park and follow the River Douglas to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and climb up some of the locks of the Wigan Flight to Whelley Loop Line which takes us to Hall Lane. From Hall Lane we cycle through the woods past the Model Railway and the 15 inch narrow gauge railway to Haigh Stableyard where we will stop for refreshments.

The return journey will follow the main drive to Whelley Loop Line and the Wigan Flight and then back to Robin Park.

Barriers:-
Bottom lock - wheelie or may be open.
Brittania Bridge - wheelie or bypass with the ebikes.
Rose Bridge - wheelie or bypass with the ebikes.
Whelley Loop Line - 2 x extra long - most bikes fit through.
Whelley Loop Line - step over horse stile.

As usual photos will be taken on the ride and will be put on the Wigan and Leigh Cycling Group Facebook page - please notify the ride leaders if you do not want your photo taken.

The ride is a mixture of canal towpath, quiet roads, tracks and trails.

There will be short stops en route and a longer stop for refreshments at Haigh Stableyard.

Please bring drinks/snacks or money to buy them. Helmets must be worn on this ride and working lights are needed.

New riders are welcome on our rides and we never leave anyone behind.
