This road ride is for confident cyclists with some long, steep inclines and descents cycling mostly on country roads coupled with a few major & minor roads along the way.
We start with a couple of miles (downhill) into Bromley Cross and Bradshaw we then start our first climb up Chapeltown Road for a very scenic ride through the old Lancashire villages of Chapeltown and Entwistle, taking in the views over Turton Tower, St Anne's Church and the three reservoirs. At the end of Green Arms Road we turn right onto Blackburn Road to take the short descent into Darwin where we take a well-earned break at Dolly’s Tearooms. Once fully refreshed we commence our return on an incline up and over Belmont passing the reservoirs and Belmont village returning to Egerton.
Please ensure your bike is in good working condition. Check your gears and brakes at least the night before.

Although helmets are only recommended by law and not deemed to be essential, anyone not wearing a helmet will not be able to join the ride.
Please bring your spare inner tubes, tyre levers and pump. Some cash and a lock are always advisable for the café stop.
