DELIGHTFUL BREEZE to DAIRY BARN

Join us for a ride to the very popular cafe,The Dairy Barn, near North Bitchburn above Howden le Wear. This is definitely a ride of two halves with a hilly and mainly on road outward route via Esh Winning and Stanley Crook while our return will be less strenuous with us heading down to the Brandon Bishop line to Broompark and onwards via the Lanchester Valley railway path back to Langley Park. Albeit there will be the pesky downie uppy to contend with below Broompark.
We will stop for delicious refreshments at the Dairy Barn.

This is a challenging ride as it is particularly hilly on the outward leg. We will follow sections of quieter road and off road paths largely so a hybrid bike is most suitable, although a mountain or robust road bike would also be ok. It is suitable for more experienced riders or for newer participants ready for a bigger challenge.

In order for the ride to leave promptly, please be punctual so we can carry out bike checks, etc. prior to us setting off. Expect to be out for 4-5 hours. Please come suitably dressed for the weather conditions and the altitude as we will be hitting 1000’ at Stanley Crook and bring a spare inner tube that fits your tyres,
