THIS RIDE: a long route to South London to visit Crystal Palace Park. You need to be confident cycling in regular traffic as we navigate some busy sections and roads, and go up a couple of hills. Most bicycles are suitable. This is a long day out – we go at a steady pace, but we don’t rush our stops.
DESTINATION: we cycle up to Crystal Palace Park to see some interesting things in the park. First we stop by the dinosaurs sculptures, which aren’t the only sculptures around the park. We then have lunch at Brown & Green Life, and carry on to the Maze and the Crystal Palace Bowl, cycling along the terraces and the transmission station.
THE ROUTE: we head south through Kensington Gardens, Chelsea Bridge, Brixton, and Brockwell Park. On the way back from Crystal Palace, we go through Dulwich, Herne Hill Velodrome, Vauxhall Bridge, and Hyde Park.
We aim to be back at Roundwood Park at around 5pm.
If you find this ride fully booked, get in the waiting list as spaces always become available nearer the date. However, please do not sign up if you’re not sure you can join.
