Creetown to Kirroughtree and back

Starting from the Square in the centre of Creetown, we take a slow steady ride up to the start of the old railway line towards Kirroughtree. We'll go up onto the line and follow it along to the other end , where we'll re-join the quiet roads arround Kirroughtree stopping at the Visitor Centre. We can decide there whether to stop for tea and cake at the VC or continue back along the line to Creetown and refresh at the Gem Rock Museum.

One short stretch of main road at the beginning and end of ride. Rest of route is traffic free and/or single track roads, some of which are quite gravelly with some potholes but we will be taking it steady.

Lots of stops to catch breath if needed, have a drink/snack especially if it's warm, chat and get to know each other and to take photos.

It's mandatory to wear a helmet and bring a road-worthy bike. You will also need cash or cars and a mask for the cafe stop.
