Starting point

Swansea
SA2 8PP

Couch to Gower ride 8. A fairly hilly ride, on a mixture of cycle paths and roads. The whole ride is 20 km, includes some steep hills, and some fairly busy rural and town roads. If in doubt, start out with one of the easier rides in the series.

We never leave anyone behind.

You need to bring a bicycle in good working order and a helmet. We will carry out a brief check before starting, but advise you to carry this out in advance (we will not be able to make repairs). See https://www.sustrans.org.uk/what-you-can-do/cycling/your-bike/bicycle-maintenance-made-easy/m-check-your-bike-11-steps.

The ride starts at Singleton Campus, outside Fulton House. It follows the Clyne Valley Railway path to the Railway Inn, then the South Gower road (A4018) to Upper Killay. It then turns onto Hen Parc Lane to pass Clyne Common and the Wildflower Cafe (only open during the daytime - great for a weekend stop), and rejoins the A4018 for short time before turning toward Kittle. There is a steep downhill followed immediately by a climb between Kittle and Bishpston, before turning right to Mansfield Road through Murton and Newton, to join Oystermouth road into Mumbles. We will stop at a cafe in Mumbles before returning to Singleton Park along the Seafront path
