We start at the railings on Long Lane at the main entrance to Leverhulme Park. There is free parking and toilets if the leisure centre is open. It is about a 2 mile ride from Bolton train station. We travel along the Linnyshaw loopline to Clifton. We'll check out the progress on the Bury Bolton canal renovation at the Meccano bridge. It does look like a big job with new housing being built.
We cycle on trails, canals and roads. These are quieter roads generally with a busier road that has cycle lanes.
We will stop at the cafe in Clifton Park for a drink. You can buy snacks or bring your own. This isn't a lunch stop ride.
Don't forget your helmet, no helmet, no ride. Bring spare inner tubes and bike pump in case of a puncture.
