Heading south from Selkirk we take the cycle route along A7 and turn off for Clerklands. We pass through Leaf and head for the Bowden Crossroads and up the hill behind Bowden Loch. Down Dingleton Hill, into Melrose and then along the black path through Tweedbank.
We return to Selkirk via Boleside and the cycle way.
1650ft of climbing so a fairly lumpy ride however most of the hills are before we reach Melrose.

Starting at the Argus Centre next to Selkirk High School we cycle on mainly quiet roads and cycle paths. A circular route starting and finishing in Selkirk.

Mainly quiet roads but a short hop on the A7 in Selkirk town to join the A7 cycle path.

We may stop at the wee coffee cabin at the Greenyards in Melrose if the weather is dry or detour to the Clucking Spud at Charlesfield. If it’s wet then won’t make long stops but don’t worry we will of course stop for drinks and snacks along the way.

Helmets are essential. Layer up as it will probably be cold and waterproofs are necessary in case of showers. Bring a spare inner tube for your bike and any specific tools. Make sure you have plenty to drink and have snacks in case we don’t manage to stop somewhere for food.

We never leave anyone behind
