Starting point

London
NW10 3SH

An evening ride to spot the iconic Christmas lights in Central London and take in the Christmas spirit all around. You need to be confident in traffic as we cycle through some very busy roads. Patience is essential, as London is simply rammed with people shopping and visiting, on foot or in traffic. IMPORTANT: you MUST bring fully charged front and rear lights. Reflective clothes are also highly recommended. Christmas attire is optional but very welcome. This is a long ride (in time, rather than mileage) – hence it’s called an extravaganza!

These are the streets we will briefly stop at to see the lights: Marylebone High Street, Oxford Street, South Molton Street, Berkeley Square, New Bond Street, Piccadilly, Regent Street, Seven Dials, and Covent Garden. We will stop for a coffee at Fiena Café in Bloomsbury and follow to our last stop in Granary Square in King’s Cross. After that, those who prefer not to cycle the rest of the route back home will be able to take the train at King’s Cross or Euston (we do not cycle past Euston though). For those who carry on, we make our way back home cycling a small section of the Outer Circle at Regent’s Park. We intend to be back at Roundwood Park around 8pm.

If you find this ride fully booked, sign up to the waiting list as spaces always become available nearer the date. However, please do not sign up if you’re not sure you can come, and cancel your space as soon as possible if your plans change.

IMPORTANT POINTS: *Helmets aren't compulsory but advisable. *Check that your tyres are pumped and bring a spare inner tube and all necessary tools in case of a puncture. *We have a 3-strike policy: those who don’t cancel but don’t turn up on the day of the ride 3 times will be banned from booking on other rides. *Only riders who are booked on the ride will be allowed to join. *Unless the weather takes a nasty turn making it unsafe or unpleasant to cycle, this ride will go ahead even if it rains. Dress for the weather and bring a raincoat just in case. *We sometimes video record our rides which are later published on YouTube. By joining our rides, you are authorising your image to appear on the video and photos.
