A leisurely & relatively flat ride along quiet country lanes, residential streets, short sections of main roads plus crossing Worden and Astley Parks. Mostly paved surfaces and easy to ride, using stretches of the National Cycle Network (NCN55, NC62) whenever & wherever possible. Here's more info on the Network's 30 years of history:

The ride starts from Chorley Train Station, passing through Euxton, Croston, Mere Brow, Burscough, Rufford, Mawdesley, Eccleston and finishing in Leyland for a late lunch at El Tano Wines just before 1pm, inside Worden Park. The nearest train station, just 1.5 miles away in Leyland is ideal for the return train journey or riders can cycle back to the nearest carpark or onwards back home if living locally.
