Costa Coffee, 203 West End Lane, West Hampstead, London
Why should Healthy Rides always be Southwark ones? On this ride we want to see what it would be like if there were Camden Healthy Rides!
We will start off by meeting at the Costa Coffee by West Hampstead Thameslink Station and cycling through Fortune Green and past Hampstead Cemetery up to the Brent Cross Shopping Centre. We then follow some parts of the Dollis Valley Greenwalk, where cycling is permitted, on a route which takes us to Barnet. We then join the Great North Way cycle path (Route 12) and follow it to Hatfield. We will stop for coffee at the South Mimms Services, which is on somewhat of a grander scale than we are used to for our coffee stops. We then follow the Alban Way (a disused railway track) which takes us to St Albans.
At St Albans, we will visit the Verulamium Park and St Albans Abbey and will stop for lunch at the Barrisimo Italian cafe in the town centre.
We then return via Nightingale Lane, London Colney and Shenley to Elstree and Borehamwood (Thameslink) Station, where the ride will end.
Please bring a spare inner tube and lights.
If you want a shorter ride, you can take the train back from St Albans Station.
