Starting from - We will be meeting just outside the entrance into The Secret Garden Cafe/ Bute Park Visitor's Centre so please only use the enclosed postcode for guidance. There are 2 cafes close to each other - we are NOT at the one immediately next to the pedestrian bridge.

You can access this start several ways including from near the A470 (including at The Welsh College of Music & Drama or the rear of Cardiff Castle/Kingsway), via the Taff Trail approaching from Blackweir or Pontcanna via the Coach Station/Millennium Bridge, or from Cardiff Bridge/Castle Street/Riverside direction.

On departing the cafe entrance near Bute Park Visitor Centre, we shall cycle through the parks and over the A48 crossing near the rugby club towards Llandaff. There is one very short but sharp hill next to the cathedral - I expect to go up it on foot! Depending how the weather is we may take a bit of time looking at points of interest around Llandaff before we end up at Insole Court. We will retrace our route to the A48 and then take a slightly different route back through the parks and possibly around the castle, depending how we are doing for time and the weather.


This is a short ride, as the weather is likely to be a bit wet and cold. Please also dress accordingly.

The route will be mainly off-road through Bute Park and Pontcanna fields or on cycle paths. There will be some road cycling in Llandaff on either quiet or wide (and fairly quiet) roads.

We will probably stop at Insole Court. There is a cafe there, or we may choose to wait until the end of the ride for a cafe stop. You may wish to bring cash/card.

Helmets are advisable.
