Breezy Summer Musselburgh to Prestonpans Loop - Evening Ride

Start from Fisherrow Harbour at 5:00pm, where there is a public toilet to be closed at 6pm
--> Small section of the promenade eastward
--> Path along River Esk southward
--> Inveresk, a conservation village in East Lothian
--> Pinkie and Levenhall
--> Riding past the hidden gems of Prestongrange Museum and then Preston Tower & Doocot (where we may enter for a brief visit)
--> Return from Civic Square on High Street, Prestonpans through the scenic coastal John Muir Way
--> Morrison's Haven and Musselburgh Lagoons
--> Back to Fisherrow Harbour

Enjoy a summer evening ride to Musselburgh & Prestonpans where a mixture of scenic views, historic structures, social gathering and relaxing bike exercise can be attained at the same time, within 2 to 3 hours in total

Mostly tarmac or well paved paths - A mixture of cycle paths and mostly quiet roads

~ Photographing stops: Prestongrange Museum, Preston Tower & Doocot, the scenic section of the coastal John Muir Way around Musselburgh, and locations upon request ~ Toilet stops: As the two main public toilets in the route - Fisherrow Harbour and Prestonpans - are closed at 6pm, after start, there is hardly any toilet stop

Despite planning to finish the ride before sunset, riders should bring front and rear bike lights in case the ride may be delayed, or if we may have optional social drinks afterwards
