Starting at the Active Dacorum Hub next to Grove Hill/Woodhall Farm Adventure playground, opposite the Asda Express garage on the Redbourn Road. There is free parking but be aware there is a height barrier at the beginning of the entrance road. Please aim to arrive 10 minutes before the ride to prepare your bike. Then run through our bike check and ride information with the group, so that we can leave promptly at 9.30 am Electric bikes are welcome on this ride.
This is a steady ride, approximately 10 miles along quieter country roads, and the traffic free Nicky Line. We will ride at the pace that is best suited to everyone in the group, usually between 8-10 mph. There will be a few inclines and as leaders we will support all riders to ensure that no one is left behind so that all the group can have an enjoyable ride. We will be stopping for a short comfort/coffee break at The Pudding Stop so please could you bring a lock for your bike. This is a circular route returning to our starting point at the end of the ride. If you have any questions please send a message through the website on the conversation page of this ride. Please remember to bring, A lock for your bike. Two spare innertubes for your bike, even if you do not know how to change them, someone in the group will, as well as the appropriate tools (tyre levers and a spanner for your wheels if you do not have quick release.) A water bottle with a drink in, riding can be very thirsty work. Cycle helmet, for your own safety. Appropriate clothing for the weather, sun cream. As we will be riding on the road please consider adding lights to your bike and wearing high vis clothing to assist other road users to see you. Money for your coffee /cake Now for the Covid bit….. Although Covid restrictions have been lifted we are asking all riders to be respectful to other riders. Please do not attend if you have Covid symptoms or have been in contact with other people that have Covid. Please bring a mask and hand sanitiser. All of the above is to keep us all safe from the virus.
