Breezing from CSG to Holmer Green

- We will cycle on delightful country lanes via Bottrells Ln, Magpie Ln, Winchmore Hill, Penn Street, Gravelly Way to The Square cafe at Holmer Green (8 miles), via this route https://ridewithgps.com/routes/50091167 Back a mostly similar route.
- Even though the ride is short, there are some tough hills and steep descents, so you need to be a competent rider. But we will regroup at the top of every hill and nobody will be left behind.
- If there’s time, we can also have post-ride coffee/snacks at The Deli in CSG.
- Please bring the usual (pump, inner tubes, etc). I would prefer you to wear a helmet for your safety.
- If you are driving, there is a pay and display behind the Co-op or free parking on the roads around the village green e.g. Bowstridge Lane HP8 4QJ.
- If coming by tube you can take the Metropolitan Line to the Chalfont & Latimer station at Little Chalfont and cycle 2 miles to the start (best via Burtons Ln and Roughwood Ln) e.g depart Harrow on the Hill at 9:41, or Northwood Hills 9:49, arrive at C&L at 10:07, £2.30. Or for the same price you can take Chiltern Rail (e.g. depart Harrow at 9:39 on the Chiltern Line arriving Chalfont & Latimer station at 9:58).
- You can take your bike anywhere on the Metropolitan Line off-peak (peak hours are Mon-Fri 7:30-9:30 and 16:00-19:00). For info see https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/cycling/cycles-on-public-transport

- Please check your bike thoroughly before you come. Check your brakes are working well, your gears are smooth and your tyres are in good condition and pumped up.
- There are public toilets at CSG and Little Chalfont.
