- We will cycle over the top of the M40 on a path, then skirt around Burnham Beeches, to Dorney, Boveney, Eton and on to the Cinnamon Café in Windsor which is popular with cyclists, via this route
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/33822902 and come back via Eton Wick, Boveney, Burnham Beeches, Farnham Common, Hedgerley, via this route
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/41145570 - You need to be a competent cyclist as there are some sharp ascents and descents, but we will take the hills at our own pace and regroup at the top. Nobody will get left behind.
- If you are driving, there is free parking near where we start and all down Windsor End.
- Or you can bring your bike by train. You can come on the Chiltern Railways from places like Northolt Park (train leaving at 9:27, stopping West Ruislip 9:32, arriving Beaconsfield 9:52). Then it is a 5-10 min cycle to the start, straight along Station Road.
- You can take your bike on Chiltern Rail nearly any time of day – see
https://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/customer-service/travelling-your-bike Chiltern Rail still allow e-bikes.
- Please bring the usual (e.g. pump, spare inner tubes, etc). I would prefer you to wear a helmet for your safety.
- There are public toilets at Windsor End (near the Register Office).
- Please check your bike thoroughly before you come. Check your brakes are working well, your gears are smooth and your tyres are in good condition and pumped up.
- I can’t see who is on the waitlist, so if you are on it, send me a message via the “message ride creator” button, with your phone number, and I will see whether I can make another space (you need to be logged in to the let’s ride website to see the button).
- If you need me to wait a few minutes because your train gets in after our start time or if you have any questions don’t hesitate to message me.
