- We will cycle over the top of the M40 on a path, to Harvest Hill, Cookham, Pinkneys Green, taking a circuitous route to avoid the busy A4, to the well known cyclists’ café VeloLife at Warren Row, via this route
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/37572342 We will come back via White Waltham, Bray and Hitcham via this route
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/50355862- This is not a flat ride, and there are some sharp ascents and descents, so you need to be a competent cyclist, but we will take the hills at our own pace and regroup at the top. Nobody will get left behind.
- If you are driving, there is free parking near where we start and all down Windsor End. Or you can bring your bike by train. You can come on the Chiltern Railways from places like Northolt Park (train leaving at 9:24, stopping South Ruislip 9:28, West Ruislip 9:32, arriving Beaconsfield 9:52). Then it is a 5-10 min cycle to the start, straight along Station Road.
- You can take your bike on Chiltern Rail nearly any time of day – see
https://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/customer-service/travelling-your-bike Chiltern Rail still allow e-bikes.
- Please bring the usual (e.g. pump, spare inner tubes, etc). I would prefer you to wear a helmet for your safety.
- There are public toilets at Windsor End (near the Register Office).
- Please check your bike thoroughly before you come. Check your brakes are working well, your gears are smooth and your tyres are in good condition and pumped up.
- I can’t see who is on the waitlist, so if you are on it, send me a message via the “message ride creator” button, with your phone number, and I will see whether I can make another space (you need to be logged in to the let’s ride website to see the button).
- If you have any questions don’t hesitate to message me.
