Starting from the water fountain next to the Tea Pavilion in Cassiobury Park (Shepherds Road entrance). Join us for this "summer solstice" ride to celebrate the longest day of the year (OK technically it's June 21st but who's counting?... ;)
We will cycle along country lanes to Flaunden where we will stop at The Green Dragon pub and meet other local Breeze groups. A great evening to be out and a chance to socialise with other Breeze ladies.
The pub serves pizza and pub grub although please do check with them directly if you have any special dietary requirements they may need to know in advance.
Please bring a bike lock as well as any tools, spare inner tubes, food and drink you may require as well as a card for payment at the pub. Warm clothing and layers are advised as this is an early evening ride. As always please wear a helmet.
Although we will be on country lanes, there are some busy sections so you will need to be a confident rider and should be able to maintain a steady 10-12mph minimum speed. This is an on-road ride so road bikes and hybrids with road tyres are recommended. (Unfortunately not suitable for mountain bikes or bikes with very knobbly tyres). E-bikes welcome.
Please meet at 17:50 at the Tea Pavilion so we can run through a riders register and bike checks before we set off. Please note as we will be socialising with other Breeze groups our pub stop may be longer than usual, so please expect to be getting back to Cassiobury Park around 8:30pm - 9pm. Please also ensure your bike has good lights front and back, and that they are fully charged.
We will need to leave on time at 6pm to arrive at Flaunden by 7pm, so please message me directly if you are going to be late, or have to cancel at the last minute. I will send you my mobile number in advance of the ride if we haven't met before.
Look forward to seeing you!
