Watford Cycle Hub Breeze to The Cake Shack

'Cos The Cake Shack is a little place where we can eat cake together! Cake Shack Baby!'

Yes, there really is a cafe called 'The Cake Shack' and it seems the perfect destination for a Breeze Ride for ladies what like cake! :)

Our route will be partly on cycle paths but mainly on very quiet country lanes.

The route has some flat sections and some undulating ones, with one, short, steep hill climb challenge just before The Cake Shack - to earn your cake!

The ride will be paced between 8 and 10 mile mph so if you're on a mountain bike and the hills are little bit harder for you, provided you've had some hill practice before, you should be able to do this and we always wait at the top of hills to re-group anyway! The super fit can do the hills twice! ;)

For ladies potentially riding road bikes, Rousebarn Lane is a little bit potholey in part, but is 'do-able' on a road bike. We are going this way because it's the quietest route traffic wise out into the countryside and up to Chipperfield where The Cake Shack is at the top.

On the day, if you are running late, please call Watford Cycle Hub on 01923 223994 and we can wait for you if you're not too far away...!

Please cancel your place on Let's Ride, if you have to drop out, so someone else can potentially take it and we know who to expect on the day.

This ride is particularly for ladies who want to take on a 'Challenging' category ride, but ride at a 'Steady' pace, so there's no pace pressure - just enjoy the route!

Please bring: - a helmet - appropriate layers for the weather conditions on the day... - perhaps a small rucksack so you can take layers off / put layers on as you need... - money for the cafe & a spare inner tube; though if you don't have one of these, you can buy one from Watford Cycle Hub before we set off: it's £4.50+
