An easygoing ride to South Kensington and the Brompton Cemetery, through quiet roads and some segregated cycling lanes. We also cross through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. This is an excellent ride to those who are confident on their bikes but not so much on the roads and would like to give it a go with another group of riders. We go at the pace of the slowest and don't leave anyone behind.

We will leave Brent using Chamberlayne Road and crossing Harrow Road to North Kensington. There we use Cycleway 44 until we get to Ken Gardens. We then cross High Street Kensington and cycle through quiet roads of South Ken, reaching Brompton Cemetery through the North Gate where we will see the grave of the suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst. We carry on towards the South wing of the cemetery via the Central Avenue and its beautiful view of the Great Circle. Back through quiet roads of South Ken again, we reach Albert Memorial and carry on via Hyde Park. On our way back to Roundwood Park, we join the Grand Union Canal in Paddington until West Kilburn. This route is mostly flat and through quiet roads, with just a few busy junctions to cross, which we do safely together. We aim to be back at Roundwood Park by 13.30.

We have 2 options for a break - we can either stay at Brompton Cemetery at the North Lodge Cafe, or stop at Hyde Park.

Helmets aren't compulsory but highly advisable. Please bring a mask to get inside toilets and cafes. We follow government rules on social distancing. Please bring spare inner tube and tools in case of a puncture. Places are limited and tend to get booked up, normally with a waiting list. If you develop Covid-19 symptoms or have been told to self-isolate before the ride, or can't make it for any other reason, please ensure to cancel your space so someone else can join. Only riders who booked themselves on the ride will be allowed to join. Unless the weather takes a nasty turn making it unsafe or unpleasant to cycle, this ride will go ahead even if it rains. Dress for the weather and bring a rain coat just in case.

First-timers welcome!
