Breeze to Sandall Beat

We will use the shared path beside the road to the Dome going past the Cycle Track then across Bawtry Road at the pelican crossing and turn into Rose Hill then across the railway bridge to Cantley and use quiet residential roads to Cantley Park then through the back of Sandall Beat Wood to Armthorpe. We will then return to Sandall Beat Wood from the shared path on Armthorpe road and ride to the picnic area. After our refreshments we will leave the wood along the straight mile. The footpath in front of the racecourse stands is not a shared path so we can either walk or ride through residential roads to Town Fields returning on the cycle path to racecourse roundabout and shared paths back to the start.

A circular route from Lakeside to Sandall Beat Wood

The majority of the route is traffic free on shared paths and trails through the woods with a short distance on quiet housing estate roads.

There is not a cafe stop on this ride. We will stop at one of the picnic benches near the toilets and children’s play area in the centre of Sandall Beat Wood - please bring your own refreshment.

Helmets are advisable and please bring a spare inner tube and any tools necessary to change it in case of a puncture. Please also bring a hot/cold drink and I will provide cake.
