Breeze to Cafe Whitmore

We leave Poulton via the extensive roadworks on Mains Lane and make our way over
Shard bridge to Bull Park Lane. There we breathe a sigh of relief as the busy roads are behind us. We’ll make our way along the bumpy river road to St Michael’s and then pass through Inskip, Wharles and Treales on our way to Kirkham. We go straight through Kirkham town centre (more road works) and head towards Weeton via Wesham. Just before reaching Weeton we’ll take a turning up the tiny lanes to Cafe Whitmore for a well earned rest. After enjoying refreshments and a good chat we’ll reluctantly leave the warmth of the cafe to make our way the short distance back to Poulton via Singleton.

This is a 29 mile circular route with a Cafe stop late in the ride.

There are busy roads leaving and returning to Poulton but the majority of the ride will be on quiet country lanes.

There will be opportunities to stop, to drink, eat or take photos along the route. The main scheduled stop will be after 23 miles at the cafe at Whitmore fisheries, where we will have a hot drink and a snack.

Please wear helmets and suitable clothing for the weather conditions. You should carry a drink / snacks, a spare inner tube (preferably 2) to fit your bike and a pump to fit the tube. Don’t forget some money for the café
