Starting point

DH8 9EW

Knitsley Farm cafe

This is the second part of the Durham Beast route continuing on from Knitsley Farm Café we will cycle from Knitsley Farm Shop down the road to the Old Mill, turning right on to Knitsley Lane before heading down to Longedge Lane and heading to East and West Butsfield. We will then wend our way back to the start through Satley to rejoin the Lanchester Valley walkway at Hurbeck cottages. Most of the route will be on quiet unclassified roads so wider tyres and good gears are advisable. Road bike riders should take extra care on mud and leaves on the pavement. The route is only 12 miles, but there are plenty of hills to keep everyone warm and exercised. We will be able to take refreshment on return to Knitsley Fram Shope Cafe and I have booked the lean to for 12pm. Please remember to bring warm and waterproof clothing as the weather may be changeable, and it will be cold! Water, spare inner tubes and wetwipes are a must. Angela and I look forward to seeing you there Jacki 07795 390871
