Leaving from the Cameron Toll, we'll go through Inch Park and cross into Craigmillar Castle Park by Bridgend Farmhouse. We then go through Little France Park and Danderhall, past Dobbie's Garden Centre and on to Dalkeith Country Park. We'll return via Whitecraig, after which we will follow the River Esk for a short distance before crossing to Monktonhall and following route NCN1 to Newcraighall, Brunstane, and Bingham and back into Craigmillar Castle Park and Inch Park to return to our starting point.

A Breeze summer picnic in Dalkeith Country Park, meeting up with other Edinburgh Breeze Rides from a few start points. This option is particularly useful for anyone living towards the south east of the City and/or who would like a shorter ride to Dalkeith Country Park by parking at Cameron Toll.

We will ride on a combination of shared paths, designated cycle lanes and some roads (residential and some busier stretches) and road through a country park. There are some hills, most notably in Little France Park, but everyone can go at their own pace and we will never leave anyone behind.

We'll stop periodically to catch our breath and have a drink. We'll meet with other Breeze rides in Dalkeith Country Park for a picnic before returning.

Helmets are strongly recommended. It is useful to carry a spare inner tube, pump and a lock for securing your bike at the picnic site, but don’t work if you don’t have these things. We will be able to fasten bikes together. Bring a bank card or money if you want to use the café at Dalkeith Country Park. Have a plan for getting home in case of mechanical breakdown (e.g. phone a friend or call a taxi). Bring your own picnic food, drink and a rug/mat if you have one. Bring layers and waterproofs in preparation for cold/wet weather and suncream in case of sunny weather.

We never leave anyone behind
