If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 8 miles an hour. At just under 14 miles, this is a great ride which will take us out and back along the River Wandle and via the parks of Beddington, Poulter and Ravensbury. We'll also pass through some lovely parkland including the oasis of National Trust property Morden Hall, & maybe going on another mile to Abbey Mills (which is a good place to stop for a cup of tea and maybe a snack!), before our return journey. Please Check your bikes over before leaving home, tyres, brakes & gears. Bring any snacks, drinks, and or medicines required. Also dress appropriately for forcasted weather so as to have an enjoyable ride. Bring a pump & inner tube for your bike, also an Oyster Card / Money just in case. And if you enjoy the ride, don't forget to spread the word, tell your family, friends, facebook, even your hairdresser as the more ladies that know the more rides we'll need to put on - and that can only be a good thing. http://www.croydonducks.co.uk/parks-2011/waddonponds-2011.htm
