Starting point

London
W6 0UN

If you are coming from Harrow we'll take the 0932 train (Piccadilly and then District, changing at Ealing Common) from Rayners Lane to Ravenscourt Park. Please allow plenty of time to take your bike down to the platform. You are also welcome to join us at Ravenscourt Park station where the ride begins at 1010. If using the trains there are some stairs to descend, but we will help each other as necessary.

This route is a chance to enjoy Hammersmith Bridge, which has been closed to motor traffic. Only pedestrians and cyclists are allowed to use it. We'll follow the Thames Path to Mortlake, go through quiet streets and then rejoin the Thames Path, crossing the river at Kew Bridge to reach Gunnersbury Park. After refreshments at the new cafe we'll cycle north to Ealing, and home via the canal at Perivale to Rayners Lane station. The ride begins at Ravenscourt Park and ends at Rayners Lane stations. If returning to Ravenscourt Park at the end you can use the Piccadilly and District Lines. This ride is organised by Breeze Harrow but all are welcome.

A chance to cross Hammersmith Bridge with no motor traffic!

About a third is traffic-free. Most of the rest is on quiet roads but there is a bit of traffic. The Thames Path can be bumpy in places so road bikes are not suitable - a hybrid is best.

We'll stop in the cafe in Gunnersbury Park near the newly-reopened Museum.

Bring water, money for the cafe, an Oyster card and a bike lock. Check the weather forecast and dress accordingly - sun cream or waterproofs!

We especially welcome newbies!
