- We will ride mainly on pretty country lanes via Chorleywood, Sarratt and Belsize to tea at Bovingdon. Then return via Latimer and Chorleywood to Rickmansworth, via this route
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/55851660 - Even though the ride is short, it’s quite hilly, and there are some sharp ascents and descents. So you need to be a competent cyclist, but we will take the hills at our own pace and regroup at the top. Nobody will get left behind.
- Please bring the usual (pump, inner tubes, light café lock, etc). I would prefer you to wear a helmet for your safety.
- If you are driving to the start there is free parking at the Aquadrome - come in along Frogmore Lane.
- You can take your bike anywhere on the Metropolitan Line off-peak (peak hours are Mon-Fri 7:30-9:30 and 16:00-19:00).
https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/cycling/cycles-on-public-transport e.g if you leave Pinner at 9:30 you arrive in Ricky at 9:43
- You can take your bike on Chiltern Rail nearly any time of day (and they also take electric bikes, which TFL no longer permit) – see
https://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/customer-service/travelling-your-bike e.g if you leave Harrow on The Hill at 9:39 you arrive in Ricky at 9:49
- After we leave the Rickmansworth aquadrome we can come up to the Rickmansworth tube station to pick up anyone on the way – let me know beforehand if that’s where you want to wait.
- There are public toilets outside the aquadrome café.
- If you have any questions don’t hesitate to message me via the “message ride creator” button, with your phone number, and I will reply via whatsapp (you need to be logged in to the let’s ride website to see the button)
