- As the autumn weather is so glorious we couldn’t resist putting on a cheeky last minute short ride in the sunshine.
- We will ride via Chorleywood, Latimer, up to Flaunden, Belsize, Sarratt, Solesbridge Ln, back to Ricky via Dog Kennel Ln and Berry Lane, with tea at the end at the Café at the Aquadrome, via this route:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39123107 - Even though the ride is short, there are some big hills, and some sharp ascents and descents. So you need to be a competent cyclist, but we will take the hills at our own pace and regroup at the top. Nobody will get left behind.
- Please bring the usual (pump, inner tubes, maybe a light café lock (although we will sit outside with bikes in view, so probably not necessary), etc). I would prefer you to wear a helmet for your safety.
- Since we won’t stop for tea until the end, you might want to bring a banana or snack to eat on the way.
- If you are driving to the start there is free parking at the Aquadrome - come in along Frogmore Lane.
- You can take your bike anywhere on the Metropolitan Line off-peak (peak hours are Mon-Fri 7:30-9:30 and 16:00-19:00).
https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/cycling/cycles-on-public-transport - You can take your bike on Chiltern Rail nearly any time of day – see
https://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/customer-service/travelling-your-bike - After we leave the Rickmansworth aquadrome we can come up to the Ricky tube station to pick up anyone on the way – let me know beforehand if that’s where you want to wait instead of making your way to the aquadrome. You can send me a message via the “message ride creator” button, with your phone number (you need to be logged in to the let’s ride website to see the button).
- There are public toilets outside the aquadrome café.
- Don't hesitate to message me with any questions.
