- We will ride via Chorleywood, Latimer, Ley Hill, Whelply Hill, Bovingdon, Belsize, Sarratt, back to Ricky via this route
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/34621300 - Depending on how the weather looks, we have the option of making this a non-stop ride and waiting for a coffee until the end of the ride back at the Aquadrome café, or whether after 15 miles to go to the Cake Shack or Blackwells.
- There are some sharp ascents and descents, so you need to be a competent cyclist, but we will take the hills at our own pace and rest at the top. Nobody will be left behind.
- Please bring the usual (pump, inner tube, etc). I would prefer you to wear a helmet for your safety.
- I can’t see who is on the waitlist, so if you are on it, send me a message via the “message ride creator” button, with your phone number, and I will see whether I can make another space (you need to be logged in to the let’s ride website to see the button
- If you are driving to the start there is free parking at the Aquadrome - come in along Frogmore Lane.
- You can take your bike anywhere on the Metropolitan Line off-peak, see
https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/cycling/cycles-on-public-transportYou can take your bike on Chiltern Rail nearly any time of day – see
https://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/customer-service/travelling-your-bike - It’s not far from the station to the aquadrome but if you are unsure of the way then after we leave the aquadrome we can come up to the Ricky tube station to pick up anyone on the way – let me know beforehand if that’s where you want to wait, also what time your train arrives.
- Please check your bike thoroughly before you come. Check your brakes are working well, your gears are smooth and your tyres are in good condition and pumped up.
- If you have any questions don’t hesitate to message me
