- We will cycle on the cycleway alongside the A40 to Northala Fields, then along the canal for a while, picking up quiet roads to Osterley Park, along this route:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/46045730Coming back we’ll use quiet roads, and do a stint on another part of the canal to Hanwell and Greenford, back past Northala Fields and the cycleway alongside the A40.
- This is a fairly flat route and we will ride at the pace of the slowest rider and always wait so that no one is left behind.
- We will stop for lunch at the café at Osterley Park. Please bring the usual (pump, inner tubes, bike lock, etc). I would prefer you to wear a helmet for your safety.
- Please check your bike thoroughly before you come. Check your brakes are working well, your gears are smooth and your tyres are in good condition and pumped up – you can use this video.

https://youtu.be/u0dtGe-LrcQ- You can take your bike anywhere on the Metropolitan Line off-peak (peak hours are Mon-Fri 7:30-9:30 and 16:00-19:00).
https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/cycling/cycles-on-public-transport- If you are driving to the start there is free parking on many residential roads off Long Lane e.g. Richmond Avenue UB10 9BH (Easier to park at the east end of the road near the Windsor Avenue end, then come along the cycle path beside the A40 to the tube station).
- If you’re planning to meet me at Northala Fields or want to join Anne to come from Eastcote then send me a message via the “message ride creator” button (you need to be logged in to the let’s ride website to see the button).
- If you have any questions don’t hesitate to message me.
