Starting point

London
UB10 9NR

- Considering this ride starts in the London Borough of Hillingdon, there are a surprising number of quiet roads with lovely scenery nearby.
- We will cycle using the cycle path beside the A40, then roads through Uxbridge, then the cycle path beside the A4020, through the lovely Bucks Golf Club, to the pretty village of old Denham, up Old Rectory Ln to Denham Golf Club. On to Chalfont St Peter, down Chiltern Hill through a private estate, up Mill Ln to Gerrards Cross, down to Fulmer, then back past Pinewood Studios, Iver Heath, through Uxbridge to Hillingdon, via this route https://ridewithgps.com/routes/44628996
- There are some sharp ascents and descents, so you need to be a competent cyclist, but we will take the hills at our own pace and regroup at the top. Nobody will get left behind.
- We will have coffee either at GX, or divert to Burnham Beeches or Black Park.
- Please bring the usual (inner tubes, pump, etc). I would prefer you to wear a helmet for your safety.
- I can’t see who is on the waitlist, so if you are on it, send me a message via the “message ride creator” button, with your phone number, and I will see whether I can make another space (you need to be logged in to the let’s ride website to see the button)
- You can take your bike anywhere on the Metropolitan Line anytime off-peak (peak hours are Mon-Fri 7:30-9:30 and 16:00-19:00). https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/cycling/cycles-on-public-transport
- If you are driving to the start there is free parking on many residential roads off Long Lane e.g. Richmond Avenue UB10 9BH (Easier to park at the east end of the road near the Windsor Avenue end, then come along the cycle path beside the A40 to the tube station).
- Please check your bike thoroughly before you come. Check your brakes are working well, your gears are smooth and your tyres are in good condition and pumped up
- If you have any questions don’t hesitate to message me.
