- we will cycle on quiet roads and paths to the Hillingdon Cycle Circuit at Minet Park. This is a traffic free 1 mile circuit with smooth tarmac which incorporates gentle hills and corners.
At the circuit we will do a few loops and practice things it is difficult to do when in traffic, such as getting your bottle out the cage and drinking while riding, making tight turns, changing from the hoods to the drops (if you’re on a road bike), braking from the drops, etc. We can also discuss any cycling related questions you have.
- On the way back we will stop for coffee & cake at Northala Fields.
- Please check your bike thoroughly before you come. Check your brakes are working well, your gears are smooth and your tyres are in good condition and pumped up
- You can take your bike anywhere on the Metropolitan Line off-peak (peak hours are Mon-Fri 7:30-9:30 and 16:00-19:00).
https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/cycling/cycles-on-public-transport- If you are driving to the Hillingdon start there is free parking on many residential roads off Long Lane e.g. Richmond Avenue UB10 9BH (Easier to park at the east end of the road near the Windsor Avenue end, then come along the cycle path beside the A40 to the tube station).
