Join us for an autumnal sociable ride to the Riverside Café at Jordans Mill located on the banks of the steady-flowing River Ivel. We’ll meet at Par 3 Golf Centre in Letchworth for a quick bike check before setting off at a comfortable pace to Ickleford via the Arlesey Road to Henlow, through Langford before reaching our destination. There will be plenty of time for a chat and a warming drink or bite to eat before heading back to our start point via Biggleswade, then onto Dunton, Edworth, Hinxworth, Ashwell and Baldock with some gentle inclines, but nothing to taxing! The total length of the ride is approximately 30 miles, 15 miles there and 15 miles back, with an average speed between 10/12 mph, which is ideal for the more experienced riders who are confident on the roads. Please ensure that your tyres are pumped up before the ride and your brakes are in working order. Make sure to bring some water, energy bars, a lock for your bike and some money if you want to buy refreshments. You may want to check the weather forecast and dress appropriately; wearing non-baggy clothing that will not get caught in the bike chain. Additional Information: We recommend you wear a helmet, but they’re not compulsory. You may need an extra layer for the autumnal weather. Please bring with you a spare inner tube and equipment to repair punctures. Ride Leaders are there to help but are not responsible for your bike. All rides leave at the time stated you must arrive early - Ride Leaders will not wait.
