Womens Social ride - Leisure United Ford to Washington Wetlands.
Come and celebrate the newly upgraded Hylton Bridge section of the Coast to Coast (C2C) with us.
Join us for a relaxed women only ride from Leisure United Ford (South Hylton) to WWT (Washington Wetlands Trust).
This ride is delivered in partnership with Walk Wheel Cycle Trist, giving us the chance to experience the newly upgraded section of the Coast to Coast - a route that was once muddy and not accessible to everyone.

If the weather is poor we will only contact you if the ride is cancelled. This will be done no later than 8 am via the Let's Ride "conversation" tab. If you have not heard from us, the ride will go ahead.

Starting from Leisure United Ford in South Hylton we'll join the traffic-free path to cross the Northern Spire Bridge before following the Coast to Coast (C2C) Route 7 towards Washington. The route is mostly off-road on a wide, smooth path, passing through green spaces and running alongside the River Wear before heading towards Washington. We'll continue along the newly upgraded section of the route, arriving at Washington Wetlands Centre where we'll stop for a wander around and a cafe break. After our visit we will cycle back to Leisure United Ford together.

This route includes a mix of surfaces including quiet roads, cycle paths, shared paths and old Wagonways. Suitable for hybrid or mountain bikes

Washington Wetlands Centre have kindly agreed that all participants can have free entry when we stop for food and drinks at the cafe. We can also wander around the centre and see the birds and animals.

Please ensure that your bike is in good working order before attending to minimise risks and disruption. Please bring: Spare inner tube Tyre levers and pump Multi-tool Lock Bike lights Gloves Drinks and snacks Suitable clothing - we suggest you check the weather forecast and dress appropriately for the weather. Helmets are recommended but not mandatory
