Another mostly off road ride Guided Ride for bike week from BeWell. From Robin Park we set off along the canal to the middle off the Wigan Flight of locks where we pick up the Whelley Loop line over to Amberswood Common. Next its on to Low Hall Nature reserve then across to Bickershaw and Kingsdown Flash. Abram and the Morris Dancers ground soon follow then Crankwood and Pennington Flash. We return to Wigan via the Leigh Branch of the Leeds Liverpool Canal passing the following flashes, Horrock's, Scotman's and Pearson's.

The route is mostly Canal Towpath and bridleways with a few small sections of quit road. Depending on the weather some of the bridleways can be a little muddy so off road tyre are recommended.

We will stop for a break at one of Pennington Flash, Pennington Park or Leigh Sports Village.

You will need appropriate clothing for the weather. Ideally you should bring cash if you intend to purchase refreshments, a spare inner tube, pump, basic tools, puncture repair kit, hand sanitiser and face mask to use when entering indoor premises.
